The first time I visited awards
It was not that big a thing, the Cutting Edge Awards. It's the first time they held place in Ghent, next time I go to something like that, it will be while I'm vlogging! So much easier.
It all started with a message of my friend, asking me to go there, a friend of here had the honor to go on stage and call the nominees. She knows I'm always up for something new, and this wasn't something, I could stroll between Belgian movie stars. So of course I was in to it and my bf too. So I planned the whole thing, bought tickets, went to the store for new clothes etc. It was a buzzy day.
The awards were a few weeks ago, it was still cold and dark too early. No one of us, knew what to expect. I was the only one who knew where it was taking place, 'cause I've been there for musicals and theatre.
We were way to early, there wasn't anyone arriving yet, they were still preparing the cameras and set so we looked around and grabbed a drink, there were maybe 10 people at the bar, we didn't know anyone, we didn't expect them to be anyone special either. When nominees and other folks arrived, we picked our spot in the crowd, I picked our spot. I thought it would be a good one, first row with high seats so there couldn't be anyone big sitting in front of us, and we got a table. What I didn't knew was that there would be huge people, standing in front of our table. So our back ached for nothing.
As the evening went by, we saw that the organization was a total disaster. Many of the nominees weren't there, there was something with the speakers. The hosts didn't know what to say on stage so they just babbled along. And even I was the most appropriate and fashionable person that evening. I'm not saying this because I think big about myself, but whit leggings and sweatpants surrounding you, being fashionable isn't that hard.
But we saw Nicole & Hugo, not my kind of music but it was nice to see a live performance of them. They have really beautiful voices. And then there was the after party, "Dancing with the stars". That was the most fun part of the evening, except for the part that my bf never wants to dance!
